Worldwide Novices Discover a Lent Loophole

Worldwide Novice Jacob (aka Jake) created quite a stir at a recent Worldwide Novice Zoom call.  He shared the following quote from Finding Joy With The Rule of St. Benedict, by feline Benedictine scholar, Sr Maria Benedicta Ramos, OSB-F:

“Chapter forty-nine is on Lent.  We know that the entire life of a monk should always have a Lenten character (RB 49.1).  Still, people over sixty-five are exempt from Lenten discipline, so Lent is particularly for the young and middle aged, and not the ancients.” [1]
