“Let your gentleness be known to everyone.”
Philippians 4:5
Hello! Amma Jane here. I was reluctant to write another article so soon as I’d written one last month. But when I shared a story about Rudy, Br. Ricky pressed me to tell you, too. “See how you can connect up the Rule to the story,” he mewed. So here we go!
The truth was, I never had really liked Rudy. He had some offensive personal habits that made me wary to be around him. Pair this with a marked lack of affection on his part. If you ventured too close to him, you would be greeted with a lightning-quick swipe or a vigorous hiss.
You may have figured this out already…Rudy’s a cat. He now resides in the Feline Paradise Cloister. [Well…I think that he made it there.] In addition, Rudy was a vision of personal untidiness. A poor groomer, his fur was dull and lifeless, often adorned with clumps of unsightly hair mats which Prior John and I had not ventured to un-mat.
