Hi! The Rule of St Benedict has taught me many things about what kind of person I am to be and how I am to treat others. I have also learned ways that I can foster a positive environment for everyone, including me. In particular, I need to be aware of and follow...
Randy’s Corner
Hello! Br. Ricky here. I’m purring because you decided to visit this page! Here you’ll find “tools” for Benedictine living. Each tool is associated with a “Mewsing on the Rule of St. Benedict.” Mewsings are articles about the Rule of St. Benedict and Benedictine spirituality. They are offered by Cloister members and novices.
This is a brand new page as of December, 2023. That’s why there aren’t lots of tools yet. But I have consulted with the Cloister and members agreed to prepare tools to help you. We want to do ALL WE CAN to encourage the practice of Benedictine ways.
We all hope that these tools will be of help. We will be adding more as time goes along.
Blessings to you.

The Danger of Leaving the Enclosure
In Chapter 66 - The Porter of the Monastery, Benedict points out that the monastery is to be constructed so that everything needed is within the walls of the enclosure. He is concerned about the danger of leaving the enclosure. Benedict fears that his members...
The Benedictine Art of Meandering

Respectful Companionship in the Rule of St. Benedict
I like companionship, don’t you? When my friend and Cloister Member Sr Charlotte goes on one of the cat tower platforms, I like to get up there with her. When Mickey’s on the favorite chair, I jump up and rearrange him so that there’s enough room for me. If Target...
